Can you give us a two sentence bio about yourself?

My name is Liam, I was born in Milton Keynes, but moved away to Bedford for a large part of my life, so it’s nice to be back working in Milton Keynes.

I enjoy spending a lot of my time with friends and also like going to the gym (before COVID19 got in the way).

What do you do at Ampower on a daily basis?

I am the financial controller within Ampower; I pursue and retain debt within the company. I am also the first point of contact for the customer and broker financial queries; an additional part of my role is to assist in all financial instances.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The best part of my job is when I close a case which has acquired large debt, they often take a while to complete and give me a real sense of accomplishment. Knowing I have had a positive impact on the company gives me a great sense of pride as well as relief. 😂

What advice were you given in your career that has stuck with you?

Everybody is replaceable, so make sure when you are not in, you’re missed.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

All my life I planned to go into the paratrooper regiment in the armed forces, I stuck with this idea until I was about 16, then I realised I didn’t want to waste all my youth on it, so I decided to work within the energy sector. I’m so happy to be where I am now, so it was a good choice!

How do you relax when you’re not at work

When I’m not working, I often enjoy going to see my family, a large number of them live up Leicester. I also like playing my PS4 at home with friends.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

When I was 16, I moved away from my parents home, this has given me great independence, and I feel really proud of that.
